‘Braid: Anniversary Edition’ Set for Release on April 30, 2024

The highly anticipated modern remaster of the indie classic Braid is finally set to launch on April 30, 2024. Originally announced in August 2020, the Braid: Anniversary Edition, developed by Thekla Inc., will feature enhanced visuals, improved sound, and over 15 hours of commentary from the creators and industry experts.

Braid, originally released in 2008 for Xbox 360’s Live Arcade, follows the story of Tim, a boy on a mission to rescue a princess from a monster. The 2D platformer became a critical hit due to its time manipulation mechanics and contemplative writing, earning praise as a masterpiece and a significant contributor to the rise of the indie gaming scene.

The remastered update will include repainted graphics by original artist David Hellman, animated brush strokes, and smoother animations with additional frames. Players will have the option to switch between the updated visuals and the original presentation. The audio has been enhanced with new mixes and variants of the soundtrack by Martin Stig Andersen and Hans Christian Kock.

The Braid: Anniversary Edition will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and even on the streaming platform Netflix.

With fans eagerly waiting for this release, the Anniversary Edition is expected to bring back the magic of the original game while offering a fresh and immersive experience for both long-time fans and newcomers alike.
