Bungie Announces The Witcher Crossover in Destiny 2 and Major Black Friday Sale
Bungie has announced a partnership with CD Projekt RED for a The Witcher crossover in Destiny 2. The crossover, named Season of the Wish, will feature cosmetic items inspired by the legendary Geralt of Rivia. This includes armor ornaments, a Ghost shell, a ship, a Sparrow, an emote, and a finisher, which players will be able to obtain when the season debuts next week.

Furthermore, starting this Friday, the Bungie Store will launch its biggest sale of the year, Savathûn’s Spire Savings, which is the in-world equivalent of Black Friday. The store will also be relaunching limited quantities of retired Bungie Rewards. Participants in this sale will obtain the Darkstar emblem for free, and the new Wishing Well emblem will be sent via email to players who make purchases between November 24 and 28. The Bungie Store sale will conclude on December 1st, with shipping costs being a flat $7 in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
In addition, Destiny 2 players can purchase Lightfall and other previously released content packs at up to 67% off on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store until November 28.
Season of the Wish is the final Destiny 2 season before The Final Shape, an expansion set to launch on February 27, 2024. Despite rumors of an internal delay to June, in Season of the Wish, Guardians will come back to The Dreaming City where they will discover new activities, gear, and secrets.
However, Destiny 2 is currently facing challenges, with the community expressing dissatisfaction with how Bungie has handled the live service game recently. This has resulted in declining player numbers on Steam, reflecting the state of the game.
The recent layoffs at Bungie have also impacted the situation, with over a hundred employees being let go. This move was primarily due to Destiny 2 revenue tracking 45% below projections for the current year.
The critical question now remains: will Season of the Wish and The Final Shape be able to get the game back on track? Share your opinion in the comments.
