AMD’s Ryzen 8000 APUs Expected for an Early 2024 Release

Team Red appears to have a busy first quarter in 2024, with ECSM_Official claiming that AMD’s Ryzen 8000 APUs are on track for an early release in the year. The processors will be the first APUs to launch on the AM5 platform, marking a significant milestone for AMD and its consumer market.

Set to be a mix of CPU and GPU performance, the Ryzen 8000 processors aim to provide efficient home/office PCs on a budget, eliminating the need for a discrete GPU or a high-end PSU. The lineup includes the Ryzen 5 8500G, Ryzen 5 8600G, and the Ryzen 7 8700G. The Ryzen 5 SKUs are hex-core models, while the Ryzen 7 is an octa-core chip with a TDP of 65W, a substantial decrease from the 170W TDP of the Ryzen 7000X CPUs.

Leaked information about the iGPU gaming performance of the Ryzen 8000 chips indicates a 2-3x boost in gaming, attributed to a higher shader count and the upgraded RDNA 3 graphics architecture. This technological advancement promises to significantly enhance the gaming experience for users.

Additionally, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, a lower-binned variant of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with a boost clock of around 4.1GHz, is also expected to debut in the first quarter of 2024. It will consist of 8 Zen 3 cores and 96MB of L3 cache, the same as the 5800X3D. Alongside the Ryzen 8000 APUs and the 5700X3D, AMD is also gearing up to launch the Ryzen 5000 GT lineup.

Overall, the upcoming releases from AMD are expected to bring significant advancements in CPU and GPU technology, offering increased performance and efficiency across different market segments. Tech enthusiasts and consumers alike can look forward to these highly anticipated launches in the early months of 2024.
