 Best laptop for remote work

The first item we will cover is the laptop I use to work remotely, which is the MacBook Pro.

I have found it to be an excellent all-rounder laptop that is simple to use (I enjoy using the iOS OS!).

MacBooks are a popular choice by remote workers all over the globe. This is the best laptop for remote work.

They probably make up more than half of the laptops I encounter when I am in coworking areas.

I’m using the 13-inch version of the MacBook Pro. Following a recent upgrade from the 2017 version, I’m using the base model of 2020, which comes featuring the 1.4 quad-core Intel I5 processor and 8GB of RAM and SSD with 256GB of storage.

The newer models have more efficiency, which means that even though the speed is 1.4 GHz compared to 3.1 GHz in my previous version, the speed can be increased by 3.9 GHz, so it handles better.

As discussed in the previous paragraph, I own the 13-inch model that strikes the perfect balance between portability and usability.

The touch bar is a feature that has been available with MacBook Pro models since 2016, and is an additional layer of convenience.

Although I’ve experienced a few scrapes and scratches, however, this MacBook Pro is still my favorite laptop for remote work. It’s reliable, stunning to work on, and can do everything I require it to. The investment is worth it when your budget allows.

Pros

  • quick performance
  • smooth usability
  • the ability to use a keyboard
  •  touch bar, and trackpad
  •  stunning, high-resolution display

Cons

  • The basic model (which I’m using) comes with only two somewhat limited thunderbolt ports, and also, there’s the absence of an SD card slot.
  • Apple MacBooks can be on the costly end of the spectrum – but there are models with identical specs, but for less.
